Public service comic published as a part of the National Social Welfare Assembly Comics Project. The Comics Project lasted from August 1949 - July 1967 and produced over 200 pages promoting citizenship and social values. <br /><br />Comic Description: The comic shows how, with funding and help from UNESCO, children in Africa were able to get a school built near their home so that children in their area would be able to receive an education. The last panel of the comic says "UNESCO is the United Nation's Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and it is helping to increase understanding among people of all nations, so we can grow up in a peaceful world."<br /><br />[Image Description: The cover shows a hunk of kryptonite being catapulted by two men from a tank directly at Superboy who is flying in the air. Kid Psycho saves superboy by projecting a shield from his eyes that deflect the kryptonite. A talk balloon from Superboy says "You've saved me again, Kid Psycho...this time with an anti-kryptonite shield projected by your... eyes! Peter Porkchops gives "Tips On Summer Fun!"<br /><br />Comic description: Peter Porkchops and his friends enjoy summer activities including going swimming at the pool, playing sports, going to the movies, and enjoying refreshing drinks. While they are having summer fun, they also always remember not to roughhouse or litter and to always be respectful to others. Binky says "Give Your Pet All the Breaks!" <br /><br />Comic Description: Binky's friend named Allergy worries that his dog, Sport does not seem to like him. They learn from their friend Jim that there is a lot involved in taking care of a dog. They take a trip to the library in order to read more about caring for a pet dog. Later sport is running and playing and licking Allergy on the face. Allergy says: "Look Binky! I guess he likes me after all!".<br /><br />[Image description: Comic book cover shows Superboy struggling to hold up part of a broken highway overpass. A crowd below looks on in horror. How A Nation Is Born: Your United Nations at Work
<span>Comic description: This comic tells the story of how the United Nations helped Indonesia gain their independence. Indonesia has a long history of being colonized by other countries. First the Portugal, then the Netherlands, and then Japan. The UN helped Indonesia to gain their independence on December 27, 1949. Dr. Soekarno became the first president of Indonesia and was admitted as the UN's 60th member nation. </span><br /><br /><span>[Image description: The cover of the comic book shows a woman holding up a small green rock of kryptonite underneath Superboy who is flying above her. A ray from the kryptonite hits Superboy causing him to waiver and giving him a dazed expression on his face. A thought bubble above the woman reads "It's real kryptonite, all right! Buzzy asks: "What Are YOU Getting out of School?<br /><br />Comic description: Jan reflects on how when he first started school in America, he studied very hard but felt lonely. Soon he was able to make friends and participate in extracurricular activities. Mary Lou complains to Janie that her parents insist that she be home from the big school dance by 12. Mary Lou's date to the dance, Muggsie, catches up to the girls walking. He tells the girls that having a curfew really isn't that bad. In fact, he has a curfew and doesn't mind. Janie figures that all of the kids probably have to be home by midnight anyways. <br /><br />[Image description: The comic book cover shows Batman and Robin in the Batcave. They are facing a large caveman holding a stone club above his head and ready to strike them. Robin says to Batman: "Batman, it's the caveman we've been hunting for!". Never Underestimate A New Idea!
Binky says: "Never Underestimate A New Idea!"<br /><br />Comic description: Allergy enters a soap-box derby and tells Binky that he was going to try something new and different with his car but decided against it because he was afraid that the other boys would laugh at him. Binky tells Allergy that the Wright brothers were also laughed at for having new ideas and today, they are world renoened inventors. Binky's story gives Allergy the courage to try out his new ideas on his soap-box car.<br /><br />[Image description: The comic book cover shows three students sitting at desks and working on their hobbies. One is making miniature ships, the other is sculpting animals, and another is admiring a stamp collection. How Stalin Hopes We Will Destroy America
Giveaway comic book about the dangers of inflation. Text argues that Communists want America to spend itself into destruction by printing more money. Advocates for the U.S. Government to operate on a "pay-as-you-go" basis. Encourages citizens to write their congressmen to tell them to cut unnecessary expenses.<br /><br />From p. 16 (back cover) After her husband writes a letter to their congressman, a wife says, "I'm a voter, too! I can write our congressman, too, can't I?" <br /><br />Her father-in-law replies, "Of course, every citizen can...and should! The way to prevent higher prices and keep our money strong -- is to cut unneccsary government expenses -- and 'pay as we go'!"<br /><br />Husband: "Together we can lick inflation -- and Communism!"<br />Wife: "It's important to me...and to you!"<br />Father-in-law: "And it's up to all of us."

Educational comic book in the form of a dialogue between a successful black man in a suit who is taking a vacation with his wife in their convertable. He encourages young men of color hanging around a diner to get free job training and advice so as to increase their economic power. The story suggests that prejudice is not as strong a motivation as the desire to make money.<br /><br />p. 6 "I can't speak English good!" <p>Public service comic published as a part of the National Social Welfare Assembly Comics Project. The Comics Project lasted from August 1949 - July 1967 and produced over 200 pages promoting citizenship and social values.</p>
<p>Publisher's Note: "Published as a public service in cooperation with The National Social Welfare Assembly, coordinating organization for national health, welfare and recreation agencies of the U.S."<br /><br />Text:<br />"Peace on Earth. The alphabet and the language may be different, but the same sentiment dwells in the hearts and minds of men all over the world."<br /><br />Published in February of 1967, this issue featured Sgt. Rock fighting “the toughest battle of his life.” In real life, public opposition to the war in Vietnam was growing in 1967. Groups like “<a href="http://anothermother.org/about" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Another Mother for Peace</a>” wrote Congress, <a href="https://kinginstitute.stanford.edu/encyclopedia/beyond-vietnam" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Martin Luther King, Jr.</a> gave a controversial speech against the war, and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Mobilization_Committee_to_End_the_War_in_Vietnam" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam</a> organized a march on the Pentagon where over 600 people were arrested for civil disobedience. </p>
